Judges 6:2
2And the hand of Midian overpowered Israel, and because of Midian the people of Israel made for themselves the dens that are in the mountains and athe caves and the strongholds.1 Samuel 13:6
6When the men of Israel saw that they were in trouble (for the people were hard pressed), the people hid themselves bin caves and in holes and in rocks and in tombs and in cisterns,1 Samuel 24:3
3And he came to the sheepfolds by the way, where there was a cave, and Saul went in cto relieve himself. ▼▼Hebrew cover his feet
Now David and his men were sitting in the innermost parts eof the cave. 1 Samuel 24:8
8Afterward David also arose and went out of the cave, and called after Saul, “My lord the king!” And when Saul looked behind him, David bowed with his face to the earth and paid homage.Isaiah 2:19-22
19 fAnd people shall enter the caves of the rocksand the holes of the ground, ▼
▼Hebrew dust
from before the terror of the Lord,
and from the splendor of his majesty,
hwhen he rises to terrify the earth.
20 In that day imankind will cast away
their idols of silver and their idols of gold,
which they made for themselves to worship,
to the moles and to the jbats,
21 kto enter the caverns of the rocks
and the clefts of the cliffs,
from before the terror of the Lord,
and from the splendor of his majesty,
lwhen he rises to terrify the earth.
22 mStop regarding man
nin whose nostrils is breath,
for of what account is he?
Isaiah 24:21-22
21 On that day the Lord will punishthe host of heaven, in heaven,
and othe kings of the earth, on the earth.
22 pThey will be gathered together
as prisoners in a pit;
they will be shut up in a prison,
and after many days qthey will be punished.
Micah 7:17
17 rthey shall lick the dust like a serpent,like the crawling things of the earth;
sthey shall come trembling out of their strongholds;
